Menghilang Setelah Diskusi: Sebuah Cerita yang Terlalu Sering Terjadi di dunia Bisnis

Pernahkah kamu duduk dalam satu ruangan — virtual atau bertemu langsung— dengan seorang calon klien, berdiskusi hangat tentang peluang kerja sama? Kamu bawakan ide, dia antusias. Kamu tunjukkan pemahaman, dia mengangguk puas. Bahkan di akhir pertemuan, ada kalimat manis: “Segera kita lanjutkan, ya.”

Kamu pulang dengan semangat. Menyusun proposal, memetakan solusi, bahkan mungkin melibatkan tim. Semua demi menjawab kebutuhan yang tadi dibicarakan dengan semangat.

Lalu hari berganti.

Kamu kirimkan materi, tak ada balasan. Kamu follow-up seminggu kemudian, hanya centang dua. Sebulan berlalu, masih nihil kabar.
Dan akhirnya kamu sadar — dia menghilang.

Tidak menolak, tidak menyampaikan bahwa prioritas berubah, tidak menjelaskan alasan. Hanya… diam. Seolah diskusi panjang itu tidak pernah terjadi.

Lucu, ya? Tapi juga melelahkan.

Bukan soal ditolak — itu biasa. Kita semua pernah kalah tender, kehilangan proyek, atau belum cocok di satu kesempatan. Tapi yang sulit dicerna adalah ketika seseorang memilih untuk tidak mengatakan apa-apa. Seolah diam adalah jalan keluar paling mudah.

Padahal, komunikasi adalah bentuk paling sederhana dari profesionalisme. Satu kalimat balasan bisa menghemat waktu, menumbuhkan respek, dan membuka kemungkinan untuk kerja sama lain di masa depan.

Dari pengalaman ini, saya belajar satu hal: jangan terlalu lama menunggu di pintu yang tidak pernah dibuka. Kita boleh memberi ruang dan waktu, tapi jangan biarkan diam orang lain menyandera produktivitas kita.

Terus bergerak. Karena dalam dunia profesional, tidak semua pintu harus dibuka. Tapi semua waktu — harus dihargai.
