Perlindungan Rumah Sakit terhadap Pasien terkait Penelitian

Penelitian dengan subjek manusia/pasien merupakan suatu upaya yang kompleks dan bermakna penting bagi sebuah rumah sakit. Pimpinan rumah sakit mengetahui tingkat komitmen yang dibutuhkan dan keterlibatan personal yang diperlukan untuk menjawab pertanyaan ilmiah dan melindungi manusia/pasien karena komitmen terhadap pasien tersebut adalah mendiagnosis dan mengobatinya serta intervensi/asuhan dari PPA.

Komitmen para kepala unit pelayanan terhadap penelitian dengan subjek manusia/pasien tidak dapat dipisahkan dari komitmen mereka terhadap pelayanan pasien dan komitmen ini terintegrasi pada semua tingkat. Oleh sebab itu, pertimbangan etika, komunikasi yang baik, ketaatan terhadap peraturan perundang-undangan, serta ketersediaan sumber daya finansial dan nonfinansial merupakan komponen dari komitmen ini. Salah satu sumber daya adalah penjaminan asuransi yang baik untuk pasien yang mengalami kejadian yang tidak diharapkan akibat protokol penelitian.

Pimpinan rumah sakit memahami kewajibannya untuk melindungi manusia/pasien. Pimpinan rumah sakit mengetahui mengenai, serta mentaati sumber peraturan dan standar profesi yang spesifik untuk penelitian klinis dan uji klinis (clinical trial), seperti standar international Conference on Harmonisation (ICH)/World Health Organization WHO)/Good Clinical Practice (GCP), dll.
