Ketika Rumah Sakit X Hampir Runtuh oleh Kesalahan memilih Sabun Cuci Tangan

Di Rumah Sakit X, semua terlihat sempurna: gedung megah, alat medis canggih, dan dokter-dokter berkompeten. Tapi siapa sangka, sebuah krisis besar justru datang dari hal yang paling sederhana: sebotol sabun cuci tangan yang salah pilih.  

Bulan April lalu, tim pengendali infeksi RS X dikejutkan oleh laporan infeksi yang tidak biasa di bangsal bedah. - 12 pasien tertular  
- 2 pasien imunokompromais meninggal  
- RS X masuk berita negatif

Ketika diaudit, terungkap bahwa:  
1. Pemilihan vendor sabun dan desinfektan dilakukan tanpa studi kelayakan  
2. Tidak ada SOP pengawasan stok bahan pembersih  
3. Anggaran pencegahan infeksi dipangkas 40% tanpa analisis risiko  
4. Tidak ada rencana kontinjensi untuk situasi wabah  
 

Setahun kemudian, RS X bangkit dengan pendekatan baru:  
✔ Membuat studi kelayakan mendalam sebelum memilih vendor bahan pembersih  
✔ Menyusun rencana bisnis 5 tahunan  khusus pengendalian infeksi
